* For the first time in the Cairo Opera House's history, Mexican maestro Felix CarrascoM will conduct the Cairo Symphony Orchestra at the Main Hall, on 27 January. The concert, featuring the renowned pianist Moushira Issa, will offer a variety of compositions by Beethoven, Mahler and Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Fattah. Abdel-Fattah will present nine miniatures compositions for string orchestra.
There is more good opera news: on Sunday, soprano Tahiya Shamseddin will feature in two concerts in Rome, along with her brother pianist Mohamed Shamseddin.
